Antoni Benaiges was one of the many teachers, enthusiasts of the Second Republic, who took on the role of cultural missionaries among the peoples of Spain. After several temporary destinations, his first permanent one was Bañuelos de Bureba (Burgos), where he arrived with his printing press and gramophone—he was a practitioner of Freinet techniques—to give voice to children. They published two magazines and various monographic booklets, among which stands out El mar (The Sea) , based on the vision of children who had never seen it, from which arose the commitment to take them to see it. This biography reveals his life from his birth until his murder in July 1936 at the hands of a Falangist group, leaving behind an unfulfilled promise with his disappearance.
